Presente simple: la -s de la tercera persona y preguntas con does
Present Simple: 3rd Person -s and Questions with DoesHe/She + verb + -s | Does + he/she + verb (base form)?En inglés, cuando hablamos de él (he) o ella (she), el verbo cambia: le añadimos una -s al final. Por ejemplo: *He sits in the office.* (Él se sienta en la oficina). Para hacer preguntas sobre otra persona, usamos does al principio y el verbo vuelve a su forma base (sin -s): • *Does she work in the morning?* (¿Ella trabaja por la mañana?) • *Does he sleep after lunch?* (¿Él duerme después del almuerzo?) Recuerda: con *does*, el verbo no lleva -s. La -s ya está en el *does*.
| Pronombre | Afirmativo | Pregunta |
|---|---|---|
| I | I sit | Do I sit? |
| You | You sit | Do you sit? |
| He/She | He/She sits | Does he/she sit? |
| We | We sit | Do we sit? |
| They | They sit | Do they sit? |
Does she work in the morning?¿Ella trabaja por la mañana?
He sits in the office and she sleeps after lunch.Él se sienta en la oficina y ella duerme después del almuerzo.
Truco: si la pregunta empieza con *Does*, el verbo va sin -s. La -s ya está en el *does*. Por ejemplo: *Does he take the bus?* (no *takes*).
Error común: *He work in the office.* → Correcto: *He works in the office.* No olvides la -s en afirmativo con he/she.
Cuidado: *Does he works?* es incorrecto. Con *does*, el verbo principal va en forma base: *Does he work?*
