¡Vamos a empezar!

EXPLICACIÓN

Teoría y puntos clave

El superlativo con "the -est" Para comparar tres o más cosas y elegir la mejor opción, usamos the + adjetivo + -est. Ejemplos: *the biggest*, *the fastest*, *the cheapest*. ¡Ojo! Con adjetivos cortos solo añadimos -est, no usamos "more". Decimos *the oldest store*, NO *the most old store*. Errores comunes y trucos • No olvides "the": es obligatorio. *This is best model* está mal; lo correcto es *This is the best model*. • "The best of all": para enfatizar que algo es el número uno entre todos, usa este chunk. Ejemplo: *This phone is the best of all*.

Enfoque gramaticalSuperlative: The -Est
GRAMÁTICA

El superlativo: the -est

The Superlative: the -estthe + adjective + -est + noun

Regla rápida: • Adjetivos cortos (1 sílaba): the + adjetivo + -est → *the fastest* (el más rápido). Importante: el superlativo siempre lleva the antes. No se dice *biggest*, se dice *the biggest*. También puedes usar of all para enfatizar: *the best of all* (el mejor de todos).

AdjetivoSuperlativoTraducción
bigthe biggestel más grande
smallthe smallestel más pequeño
fastthe fastestel más rápido
oldthe oldestel más viejo
shortthe shortestel más bajo/corto
slowthe slowestel más lento

This store has the biggest sale in the city.

The fastest train to the airport is at noon.

Recuerda: el superlativo siempre lleva the. No digas *biggest*, di *the biggest*. Es un error muy común en hispanohablantes.
Cuidado con la pronunciación: *the oldest* suena como *the old-est* (con la e corta). No lo confundas con *the oldest* (el más viejo) y *the oldest* (el más antiguo).
Para enfatizar: usa of all al final. *It's the best of all* = Es el mejor de todos. Es una frase muy natural en conversaciones.
