EXPLICACIÓN

Teoría y puntos clave

Errores comunes con 'delay' y 'cancel' • 'Delay' es un sustantivo y un verbo. Decimos *"The flight has a delay"* (sustantivo) o *"The flight is delayed"* (adjetivo). No digas *"The flight is delay"*. • 'Cancel' es el verbo, 'cancelled' el adjetivo. *"They cancelled the flight"* (verbo) → *"The flight is cancelled"* (adjetivo). • 'On time' vs 'in time': *"On time"* significa a la hora prevista (el vuelo sale a las 10:00 y sale a las 10:00). *"In time"* significa con margen antes de algo (llegar al aeropuerto antes de que cierre el check-in). Preguntas con 'did' para hablar de vuelos • Para preguntar por el pasado, usa 'Did' + verbo en infinitivo: *"Did the flight arrive on time?"* (no *"Did the flight arrived?"*). • 'Take off' (despegar) y 'catch' (tomar/atrapar) son verbos irregulares: *take off → took off*, *catch → caught*. Úsalos con 'did' en preguntas: *"Did you catch your flight?"*. • En conversaciones reales, combina todo: *"My flight was delayed, but I caught it. Did yours arrive on time?"*

GRAMÁTICA

Pasado simple: preguntas con did (repaso)

Past simple: questions with did (review)Did + subject + base verb + ...? / Wh- + did + subject + base verb?

Para preguntar sobre acciones pasadas en inglés, usamos el auxiliar did + el verbo en forma base (sin -ed ni cambios). Estructura: Did + sujeto + verbo base + ...? Ejemplos: • Did you catch the bus? (¿Tomaste el bus?) • Did the plane take off on time? (¿Despegó el avión a tiempo?) Importante: el verbo principal no cambia cuando usamos *did*. Decimos *Did you arrive?*, NO *Did you arrived?*. Respuestas cortas: • Yes, I did. / No, I didn't. Preguntas con *wh-*: What time + did + sujeto + verbo base? • What time did the flight arrive? (¿A qué hora llegó el vuelo?)

PreguntaRespuesta corta
Did I arrive?Yes, I did. / No, I didn't.
Did you catch the bus?Yes, I did. / No, I didn't.
Did he/she take off?Yes, he/she did. / No, he/she didn't.
Did we arrive on time?Yes, we did. / No, we didn't.
Did they cancel the flight?Yes, they did. / No, they didn't.

Did you hear about the cancellation of the morning flight?¿Escuchaste sobre la cancelación del vuelo de la mañana?

Did the plane take off on time, or was it delayed?¿Despegó el avión a tiempo, o estaba retrasado?

Recuerda: con *did*, el verbo principal va en forma base. No digas *Did you arrived?* — di *Did you arrive?*
Error común: *Did you cancelled the flight?* → Correcto: *Did you cancel the flight?*
